Operations Manager of the Institute for Transformative Mentoring

The Operations Manager will be responsible for programmatic and administrative logistics.  This position is a critical member of a small team where staff members work collaboratively and are often expected to pitch in on a wide range of projects.  The core responsibilities of this position are operational and this position requires a well-organized person with excellent planning, follow-up, and creative problem solving skills.   This position reports to the Program Director of ITM.

This position is funded by and contingent upon external fundraising. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the program.
  • Coordinate events and classes.
  • Assist the Director of ITM in maintaining operational budget including tracking of expenditures. 
  • Procure goods and services, including participant supports, meals, consultants, etc.  
  • Manage student enrollment and track student activities and outcomes.
  • Support reporting, evaluation, and development. Supervise ITM program staff and student workers, as needed.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and related experience required.Experience with youth development, workforce development, higher education, and criminal justice/re-entry strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Strong analytical abilities and technical skills; able to analyze and evaluate data, develop reports, and make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, administrators, alumni, and the University community. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, problem solve; can work well both independently and in team-based settings.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff/students.

Manager of Instruction and Mentoring of the Institute for Transformative Mentoring

The Senior Educator/Mentor will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students.  This position reports to the Director of ITM. We are seeking an experienced educator who can teach college-level courses and offer professional trainings that includes restorative justice practices, experiential learning, and co-teaching.  This is a critical position in a small team that works collaboratively and pitches in on a wide-range of activities. 

This position is funded by and contingent upon external fundraising. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach college courses, small group sessions and conduct meetings with students.
  • Assist in research and curriculum development.
  • Manage the recruitment and enrollment of credible messengers.
  • Develop, implement and manage a mentorship program for students and graduates.
  • Develop an alumni network.
  • Provide academic advisement or support to program participants/students.
  • Build strong relationships with credible messenger community, social service employers and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise staff or student workers, as needed
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
  • Teaching and youth mentorship experience.
  • Creative problem-solver, results oriented.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Strong attention to detail skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Prior experience working with formerly incarcerated people.
  • High level of computer proficiency in Google Drive, MS Office, Outlook and online database systems; strong knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software is essential.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends

Youth Program Facilitator

The Youth Program Facilitator will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students in ITM’s young adult program. This position reports to the Assistant Director of ITM.

This position is funded by and contingent upon external fundraising.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate training sessions, small group sessions and meetings with students.
• Assist with the recruitment and enrollment of young adults.
• Conduct site visits to support youth in peer mentorship activities; build strong relationships with partner sites.
• Provide mentorship to students and graduates.
• Provide academic support and GED/college advisement to program participants.
• Support program operations including planning events, tracking student activities and outcomes, and other administrative tasks.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
